There are several changes that have been made to locations in the overworld compared to the original game due to being set in an alternate timeline:
The game begins in a similar vein to how Persona 5 begins, midway through the infiltration at Niijima's Palace. However, when Joker begins to make his escape, a hooded intruder intervenes and attacks him.
Lufel points out to Nagisa a former baseball player, Takeyuki Kiuchi, who intentionally rams into women in the subway as a means of attaining his misogynistic desires, and says that in order to stop him, they must enter Kiuchi's palace (a baseball stadium) within the Metaverse and steal his treasure, an object which is the source of warped desires.

Student by day, copyright thief by night: unmask the corrupt bigwigs of the real world by seizing their distorted desires from the shadows of the Metaverse.

While this game has the same social stat system as Persona 5, the stats can be raised to a much higher amount. Similarly, the game has Synergy Links, which function near identically to the Confidant system, only with more ranks, usually ranging from 15 to 20. Despite this, for most of the ranks only ten of them have events. There also are some non confidant characters that have side quests the protagonist can complete to get rewards.
She is also responsible for stalking and psychologically grooming Shoki Ikenami, who she views as nothing but a possession, while being hostile towards those who are closest to him.
Not to mention moving around on mobile is clunky - I save all palace/mementos exploration for PC where I know the controls are more reliable... I really hope this game doesn't die within a year, but it seems like it will at this rate.
Unless SEGA puts out a statement to at least commit to reward parity with the Chinese server, I can't recommend playing this game. At the very least, definitely don't spend on it.
The gameplay isn't bad, but it's clear that they've decided to focus on finding more ways to get people to spend rather than creating an enjoyable experience. Especially when we have previous versions to compare to, the global version is way stingier, consistently giving less rewards and increasing prices.
During class, the protagonist struggles to stay awake and drifts off. Once he awakens, he finds himself within Persona 5 The copyright X the Velvet Room, and is welcomed in by Igor and Merope.
It combines elements of social simulation, as the protagonist uses his free time to raise stats and forge bonds with characters, and dungeon crawling in the alternate world known as the Metaverse. The cognitive versions of the people met in the city, including the copyright Thieves of Hearts from the original game, can be summoned for use in the Metaverse through a gacha system.
